    Frequently asked questions

    What quality is the MP3?

MP3s are encoded at a high variable bitrate (around 165 kbps), which sounds transparent for speech and very good for music.

When should I pick WAV instead of MP3?

Pick WAV when you plan to edit the audio afterwards. It is uncompressed, so nothing is lost, but files are roughly ten times larger.

Can I extract audio from any video?

From any video that actually contains an audio track, yes. Screen recordings made without a microphone often have none.

    Is the extractor private?

Yes. The audio is decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser. Your videos are never uploaded to any server.
