Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between fast and precise trimming?
Fast mode copies the video and audio streams without re-encoding, so it finishes in seconds and loses no quality, but the cut snaps to the nearest keyframe. Precise mode re-encodes the clip, which takes longer but cuts exactly on the requested times.
Does trimming lose quality?
In fast mode, no: the original streams are copied bit for bit. In precise mode the clip is re-encoded once at high quality.
Which time formats can I type?
Plain seconds (90), minutes and seconds (1:30), or hours, minutes and seconds (0:01:30) all work.
Is trimming private?
Yes. The cut happens entirely in your browser. Your videos are never uploaded to any server.
